Sister Act is a divine new musical comedy which will raise the roof at the London Palladium from 7 May 2009.
When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place cops are sure she won't be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community, but in doing so blows her cover. Soon the gang are giving chase, only to find themselves up against Deloris and the power of her new found Sister Hood.
Based on the smash-hit movie, Sister Act features a brand new score by 8 time Oscar winner Alan Menken whose credits include Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and most recently the hit movie Enchanted.

I was just listening to the song fabulous baby, and there’s a lyric that Dolores is back up girls saying that she doesn’t like that I can’t quite understand, and I would sure love anyone’s help. The lyric goes “broke unknown, chances blown, no doubt girl you’re…” What is the word next? The next word sounds like it might be taboo or bad news but I can’t quite hear it. Hey, thanks for any help.

+TopS Coment i know this is very late....but to answer you, Wendy Makkena originated the part of Sister Mary Robert in the 1992 film of Sister Act ( she's the first one to play the role ) only in the film. While Katie originated Mary Robert in the " Stage musical " of Sister Act, she's the first to play the young nun in the stage production

Hi. I'm a Christian and I've studied Latin. Sr Mary Lazarus' words are "laudamus te, benedicimus te, adoramus te, glorificamus te,". (The 'c' in benedicimus is sung as a 'ch' sound) It's Latin for, "we praise You, we bless You, we adore You, we glorify You". The other words they sing, "Gloria in excelsis Deo" mean, "Glory to God in the highest" which is actually what the angels sing when they appear to the shepherds in the Christmas story. The young sister sings, "tu solus Dominus, tu solus Altissimus, Iesu Christe... in gloria Dei Patris" which means, "You alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, in the glory of God the Father". Hope that helps. x
+Lizzie's Playlists Yes, because the nuns are implied to be practising the "Gloria in Excelsis" that is sung or said at every Mass held on Sundays and Feast Days in the Catholic Church. Of course, we say sing/recite it in the vernacular nowadays, with the Latin version finding regular used in the Vatican, Traditionalist circles, and special occasions in other places.
